A new hate crime that took place in Germany against a Muslim Egyptian woman who wore the Islamic head scarf.
The woman is 32 years Marwa El-Sherbini , a pharmacist , she was 4 months pregnant with her second child when she was was stabbed 18 times with a knife in front of her three-year old son.
Back in August 2008, Marwa filed a defamation case against her killer, Axel W, a 28-year unemployed German, after he called her a “terrorist” because she wears the hijab (Islamic veil).
The man, reportedly a Russian of German decent who immigrated to Germany in 2003, was fined 780 Euros by a local court for calling El-Sherbini a “terrorist." Records indicate he had expressed his dislike of Muslims at his original trial.
Axel W, appealed the fine, and a state court agreed to hear the case in Dresden in early July.
Minutes before El-Sherbini was to testify at the hearing last Wednesday, “Axel W” attacked her inside the court room and killed her.
German prosecutors said that as El-Sherbini's husband came to her aid, he was also stabbed by the killer and then shot in the leg by a security guard who initially mistook him for the attacker. He is now in critical condition in a German hospital, according to al-Sherbini's brother.
Media Role:Unlike other hate crimes like homophobic crimes or anti-Semitic crimes, this crime did not make the headlines on any of the major media outlets.
The media takes full responsibility for such attacks, it is the media who have been creating anti Muslim sentiment with the biased way it deals with issues and news, since 9-11 the media have not missed a chance to attack Muslims, Islamic symbols, indirectly label Muslims as terrorists and so on.
We still remember the riots what happened in the suburbs of Paris and how directly the media linked them with immigrants and then to Muslims while the same kind of riots that happened in Greece (by 100% pure greek) were linked to social situations and issues.

there are laws that criminalize holocaust denial and other nazi related expressions.
We still remember the ban of headscarf in public institutions in many European countries and more recently the complete ban of burqaa in public places and how the media is portraying it as a way to preserve the national identity.
The Media is biased and there's no doubt about it, the question is not if but when the media will succeed in creating the next Hitler Youth.
