Arab - African Summit
A term rarely used, due to the fact that the last
Arab - African Summit was 32 years ago.
The foreign ministers of 24 Arab and African country from the Arab- African cooperation committee held their meeting in Tripoli - Libya(the committee didn't held meetings since 2001), to discuss the possibility of helding an African- Arab summit in 2010.
Why now After the SOUTH AMERICA-AFRICA Summit for South-South Cooperation
that was held between leaders from Africa and from South America.
The Arab countries remembered that the African countries south of the desert are simply separated by a desert and if cooperation can be done through the oceans (South American- African Summit) why can't it be done through a lousy desert.
